The Anti-Drug Club (ADC) at Nehru Arts and Science College is a student-driven initiative aimed at creating awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and fostering a drug-free academic environment. Functioning under the leadership of committed faculty and enthusiastic student representatives, the club plays a vital role in instilling values of health, responsibility, and social awareness among the student community.
With a strong emphasis on awareness and education, the cell works to inform individuals, especially students, about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. It conducts regular awareness programs, workshops, and counseling sessions in collaboration with health professionals, law enforcement, and rehabilitation centers. By creating an open and supportive platform, the cell encourages individuals to seek help without fear or stigma. It also monitors and addresses instances of drug use through confidential reporting and appropriate intervention. The Anti-Drug Cell believes in the power of preventive action, early intervention, and continuous engagement to combat the rising threat of drug abuse.

The NSS unit of M.I.E.T ARTS AND SCENCE COLLEGE, TRICHY-07 organized a “Hand wash Awareness Program” for school children to teach the importance of keeping hands clean. The session began with a short talk on “why hand washing is important” — to prevent germs, illnesses like cold, flu, and stomach infections, and to stay healthy every day. The Anti-Drug Club of M.I.E.T Arts and Science College successfully organized a Drawing Competition on 09.08.2025 (Saturday) to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse among students. The event aimed to encourage young minds to express their thoughts creatively and promote a drug-free lifestyle through art. A total of 50 students from various classes enthusiastically participated in the competition. The theme for the event was “Drugs and their effects”, which inspired participants to illustrate messages of hope, health, and a better future free from addiction. The competition was judged based on creativity, relevance to the theme, originality, and presentation. The judges appreciated the participants’ artistic skills and the powerful messages conveyed through their drawings. Prizes were awarded to the top performers. The event proved to be both educational and inspiring, successfully achieving its objective of spreading awareness through art.

The event aimed to encourage young minds to express their thoughts creatively and promote a drug-free lifestyle through art. A total of 50 students from various classes enthusiastically participated in the competition. The title for the Essay competition was “Drugs free Tamilnadu”, which inspired participants to illustrate messages of hope, health, and a better future free from addiction. The competition was judged based on creative ideas, relevance to the topic, originality, and presentation. The judges appreciated the participants’ skills and the powerful messages conveyed through their writings. Prizes were awarded to the top performers. The event proved to be both educational and inspiring, successfully achieving its objective of spreading awareness through their writings.
The Anti-Drug Club has conducted the awareness rally on 29.10.2025 (Wednesday) from Gundur to MIET Campus. In this event, around 150 students actively participated. The program was presided over by the Principal DR.Y. GLORY VIOLET ARON. The rally was flagged off by Mr.S.RAJA Inspector of Police (Navalpattu Police Station) and Dr.J.ILAIYASURYA.,MBBS., District Consultant, Tobacco Control Cell,(District Health Office).The event aimed to educate people, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug addiction and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The event was successfully organized by Prof. M.JEYABALAN, Program Coordinator.
